Perisphere and Trylon

Perisphere and Trylon

Building located at the 1939 New York World's Fair.

The Trylon and Perisphere were buildings erected for the 1939 New York World's Fair. Both words originate from Greek: "Peri" translating to "all around", "about" or "enclosing"; while "Trylon" was translated to "triangular pylon". Both buildings were later demolished and the iconic Unisphere from the 1964-65 New York World's Fair occupies the space.

In DC Comics, the Trylon and Perisphere were the headquarters of the All-Star Squadron in the Bronze Age of Comics and the Young All-Stars in the Modern Age of Comics. The robot Elektro which was also a main attraction at the 1939 New York World's Fair is seen from time to time in the comics occupying the buildings.
