Throughout the history of the Wonder Woman character she has occasionally chosen to don armour face a stronger threat. It should be remembered that there is often a need for this as Wonder Woman is not technically impervious to harm though she is quite durable. This armour is more common in the modern era. The first time she was seen to don it was during the challenge of the gods. The second time she donned the armour was against Devastation which incorporated a bird of prey motif. This iteration of the armour is the one motly commonly seen, and one which both Cassie and Donna also wear at times. As was reimagined under George Perez in the 1980s reboot, the traditional Wonder Woman costume is actually simply the breastplate portion of the full armour, thus technically Diana is most often wearing the armour, if only a piece of it.
