A rocket crashes down in Metropolis carrying a Kryptonian youngster. Superman and Lois take him into their home and raise him as their own, but when the boy's real father, General Zod, arrives on Earth and demands his frightened son be turned over to him, Superman must join forces with Lex Luthor to save Metropolis from destruction.
