cover

A mythical horse-like creature popular in the fantasy genre and often styled as white, rare, shy and possessing a spiraled horn that acts as a source of power, and which is often prized as a wand. Traditionally, only the pure can approach a Unicorn, typically young female virgins, without fear of it fleeing or harming them.

Evil characters will often seek to enslave, kill and/or remove the horn of a unicorn for its power.

Sometimes a Unicorn may be combined with the Pegasus myth so that is winged and able to fly as well as having a horn.
