Created by Marc Silvestri, David Wohl, Brian Haberlin, and Michael Turner, the series focuses on Sara Pezzini, a detective who has to investigate supernatural crimes. She is the bearer of the Witchblade, a mysterious artifact in form of a gauntlet.

From Issues #80-150, Ron Marz would take over Witchblade as the longest running writer of the title. Writing an amazing 70 Issues. Marz returned aftera 19 issue hiatus with #170.
