Origin

White Bird lives on Earth 253 and is a superhero and a member of the powerful superhero team the Protectorate. Her first name Amara, White Bird is distinguished by her large and beautiful swan like angel wings which grow from her back, allowing her flight and extra maneuverability. She serves alongside the physical powerhouse Thor, the cyborg like technological expert the Technocrat, the telepathic and telekinetic world walker The Professor (Nate Xavier), the computer enhanced methodical Nightfighter, the city dependent and powered Citydweller and finally the spirit of the century Nicola Zeitgeist. There team operates out of the Foldcastle, an advanced high tech base, and they frequently save and protect the world from various threats, including alien invasions, ending world hunger and rebuilding time.

Creation

White Bird is a Marvel comics published character created by writers Steven Grant, Warren Ellis and artist Ariel Olivetti. The character White Bird first appears in the X-Man series, near the end of the series, appearing for the first time in the issue X-Man #71 - Fearful Symmetries Part 1 released in 2001.

Major Story Arcs

The Burning Tiger Qabiri

White Bird and the Protectorate confront an alien visitor to their world after he attacks and burns New York City killing all its inhabitants. The Protectorate would be too late to save them exiting from their Foldcastle headquarters they would get straight to stopping Qabiri. White Bird would be hurt severely and require medical attention with Technocrat assisting her and Nightfighter back to the Foldcastle. Zeitgeist and Professor would show up Qabiri would fly away prompting Thor and Professor to follow.

Powers and Abilities

White Bird possesses a unique and powerful physiology, resembling a human but with large giant white wings protruding from her back. She can fly with these massive appendages and at extremely fast speeds as well. She is also generally enhanced with increased strength, durability, agility, resiliency, speed, reflexes and healing abilities.
